About BANV

The purpose of the Beekeepers Association of Northern Virginia,a nonprofit association, shall be to engage in any lawful activity which will increase knowledge of and promote apiculture in the Northern Virginia area.

The objectives of this association are to promote and support:

• An under standing of and solutions to the common apiculture problems of its members
• Apiculture education and the use of more productive methods of beekeeping
• The development of both the scientific and practical aspects of beekeeping
• Such legislation as may be necessary to protect and encourage apiculture
• Constructive relations with individuals, businesses, and other organizations
• Activities which serve to foster good relations between beekeepers and the public
• The increased use of honey and honey products

Any person interested in or actively engaged in beekeeping or the beekeeping industry is eligible for membership in this association. This association admits members of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, age, religion, sex, handicap, or marital status to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to members of this association.
